On the bay side of the island where we conducted our survey is a large expanse of shallow beach that is exposed during low tides. The area labeled “Uncovered Beach” nearly tripled the size of the survey beach when the tides reached the -1ft mark for the day. This is the only place in the immediate area where a large expanse of sediment has built up due to the fact that the shoreline marker for the rest of the island indicates artificial rock walls. |
